routeplay makes road-trip playlists: songs by artists from the places along your route. It's a free, non-commercial project. By using it, you agree to these terms.
routeplay is run by I Ward. Get in touch at routeplay@proton.me.
Using it
- It's for your own use, not for anything commercial.
- Don't use it while you're driving. Plan the trip before you set off, or hand the phone to a passenger.
- Don't send it automated or bulk requests, or try to get round its limits.
- We may limit how much it can be used, change it or close it at any time.
The playlists
- A program puts them together from open data, which has mistakes in it. Where an artist is from, a song's year or genre, or when it plays on the trip can be wrong, and a song may not be on your music service.
- routeplay doesn't play or host any music. The songs belong to their artists and labels, and you play them through your own music service, under its terms.
- Each playlist has a link of its own, and anyone with the link can open it. Share it only with people you'd show it to. The privacy policy says how long playlists are kept.
Google Maps
The From and To boxes, the map and the routes come from Google Maps. Using them means you also accept the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Other services
“Add to Spotify, Apple Music…” hands the playlist to Soundiiz, which copies it into your music service. Soundiiz is a separate service with its own terms, as are your music service and any playlist-transfer site you give the song list to, such as TuneMyMusic.
Where the data comes from
Artists, songs and genres come from MusicBrainz. Its core data is in the public domain (CC0), and the genres, from its tags, are under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 US. Birthplaces and fame come from Wikidata (CC0), and places are © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence.
No promises
routeplay comes as it is. We can't promise it will always be there, or always be right. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss from using it, but nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn't let us limit.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and using routeplay after a change means accepting it.
